Somewhere new. Something different.

Crêpe Boutique Ti Bisou: bringing French flair to Haarlem

Crêpe Boutique Ti Bisou is bringing oodles of French flair to Haarlem with its superb crêpes and galettes. This is definitely one of Haarlem’s finest eateries and it’s one of my favourites. Expect authentic and delicate flavours, beautiful presentation and attention to detail. When I eat here it feels like I’m sitting at a sidewalk café in France.

French inspiration

The owner, Carole Gölitz was born and raised in Brittany so what you’re eating is fully inspired by Carole’s family, childhood memories and experiences of this beautiful region of France.

The menu

Ti Bisou specialises in crêpes and galettes. France is known for its crêpes, a very thin type of pancake usually made with wheat flour or buckwheat, milk and eggs. The first recorded recipe for crêpes actually originates from Brittany in Western France. Galettes are maybe not as well-known as its relative the crêpe. Galettes are different because they are made with gluten-free buckwheat. Both are delicious!

The boutique crêperie has an extensive sweet and savoury menu and accommodates various dietary preferences. All crêpes are vegetarian and many can be made vegan or gluten-free.

Think of savoury galettes with fillings such as smoked salmon, dill, crème fraîche, avocado, goat cheese, honey and walnuts. Or maybe you feel like a sweet crêpe. There are so many fillings to choose from such as salted caramel, homemade chocolate sauce and homemade lemon curd. I also love their coffee which is sourced from Moto Coffee Roasters.

French shopping

Ti Bisou stocks speciality food products and homeware from the western region of France. These are all gorgeous as gifts (I’m thinking ahead to the festive season) or to enjoy at home to prolong your French experience.

Explore other hidden streets

Explore the Vijfhoek’s hidden streets while you are in the area. Ti Bisou is in Korte Houtstraat (the street with all the lampshades). This is one of Haarlem’s most photographed streets. Korte Annastraat, just around the corner from Ti Bisou, is another quaint street with historic Dutch houses and it also has the most adorable mural.

Bon appétit! 🍴
